Knights of Columbus Present PARPC with Funds to Assist Those in Need

The Palmyra Area Recreation and Parks Commission is pleased to announce the Knights of  Columbus from the Church of the Holy Spirit in Palmyra, Council 10502, presented PARPC with a $1,000 check to assist with scholarships for economically disadvantaged youth to participate in the various recreational programs offered. As a result of this donation, 30 PARPC scholarships will be granted during 2020.

Charity is the foremost principle of the Knights of Columbus.  They are an international organization that have donated more than $382 million over the past three decades to groups and programs that support the intellectually and physically disabled. One of the largest recipients of funds in this area is the Special Olympics.  They also help those in need with donations through Coats For Kids, Global Wheelchair Mission and Food For Families programs.  They partner with Habitat for Humanity to provide shelter for families in need.  Locally, they support numerous programs with a special emphasis for veterans and children in need.

During this time of year, when many needs go unmet, we are delighted to be working with a charitable organization that puts others needs above their own. PARPC is proud to be partnering with The Knights of Columbus.
