2022 Fall Girls Field Hockey Program

MORE INFORMATION FOR THE UPCOMING SEASON TO COME IN MAY OF 2023!

PARPC GIRLS FIELD HOCKEY PROGRAM FIRST THROUGH EIGHTH GRADE

  • Three divisions by Grades (1-2), (3-4), and (5-8).  (Scroll down to the bottom of the page for Kindergarten information)
  • Uniform included (Team t-shirt and field hockey socks)
  • Practices and games total 2x per week (most games are Saturday morning or Sunday afternoon).

DATES:

  • Practices begin the week of August 22nd and continue through mid-late October.
  • Starts with two weeks of 2x per week practices, then moves to 1x per week practice with one game per week mostly on Saturdays but sometimes varied, based on field availability and number of teams.
  • Games start the weekend of September 10th.
  • Practices and games times are determined based on athlete and coach availability noted on registration forms as they are received. Each season practices and games are different because we balance ability, age, and schedule availability together with a parent coach to make the program as balanced as possible for the best experience for our athletes. We appreciate your patience with schedules as we work on them as registrations come in, and later finalized after registration is closed,  in order to accommodate our coaches and athletes each season. REGISTRATION INFO:

FEE: $70 includes a team field hockey t-shirt and socks (2nd family member $65, non PASD $80)

Register by July 18th to avoid a late fee!  *Registration closes after July 26th.

NEED TO KNOW:

  • Mouth guard, field hockey stick, and shin guards are required to play hockey.
  • Discounted field hockey stick purchases:  You may order a discounted hockey stick through July 18th for $25 in sizes 28, 30, 32, and 34.  Measurement is taken from the ground to the top of your athlete’s hip bone to the nearest inch listed, going with a shorter stick as opposed to longer for better control.  Deadline for ordering sticks is July 18th in order to get them shipped in time to play in August. If you cannot afford to purchase a field hockey stick we might be able to help, please email me at hhershey@palmyrarec.org
  • 7th and 8th graders are encouraged to either play Rec OR Middle School hockey- not both.
  • SEASON INFORMATION: Players will be contacted by August 10th by their coach regarding practice times which begin the week of August 22nd .  NOTE: Not all coaches contact athletes on the same day. If you do not hear from your coach by August 10th, please first check your SPAM folder then email hhershey@palmyrarec.org for team contact information.
  • Placement is made depending on availability on registration forms, so please be sure to note days you are UNAVAILABLE.
  • COACHES: Mandatory Coach’s meeting is scheduled for August 2nd at 5:30pm at the Palmyra Municipal Building at 325 South Railroad Street, Palmyra. An email will be sent to coaches with more instructions the week of July 25th.
  • Game days are as follows at In The Net – *Typically games run 5-8 grade, followed by 3&4 grade, and 1&2 grade games last (except October 6th when 1&2 grades play first) .  Exact game times for specific teams will be determined The week of August 29th at the latest, after registration is closed, teams are finalized, and coach availability is secured.

  • Saturday, October 1st – 9am-Noon
  • Thursday, October 6th– 5:30-8:30pm

  • Sunday, October 30th – 1pm-4pm

GIRLS KINDERGARTEN FIELD HOCKEY

Join Palmyra High School field hockey assistant coach Kayla Ricker for some Kindergarten Field Hockey fun.

  • DATES: Skill sessions on Sunday afternoons from 12-1pm on September 18, 25, October 2, 9, 16, 23.
  • COST: $55  ($65 for non PASD)
  • WHERE:  Pine Street Elementary Soccer Field (pending PASD approval)
  • Mouth guard, field hockey stick,  and shin guards are required to play field hockey.  You may order a discounted hockey stick through July 18th  for $25 in sizes 28, 30, 32, or 34. SPONSOR A TEAM:

PARPC is looking for businesses willing to sponsor a team. A fee of $135 puts your company logo on the team t-shirts, a customized team plaque with picture as a thank you, and a letter from our Non-Profit so you can write off your donation at tax time. COVID 19 UPDATE:

  • All safety measures are subject to change depending on CDC guidelines.
  • If your child has any symptoms or illness that could be COVID19 please do not send your child to our program.
  • If COVID19 restrictions are heightened and the program is cancelled we will refund registration fees.
  • More instructions on COVID19 program guidelines will be released in August to ensure up to date information.
